TeamCME

TeamCME is the United States of America’s largest network of DOT (Department of Transport) certified medical examiners. Having thousands of locations around the US, truck drivers are able to obtain their driving certificate from registered examiners with much more ease and efficiency. A physical evaluation is part of this DOT physical exam, including a routine heart auscultation to ensure the driver is not at risk of a cardiac event.

TeamCME has thus adopted TeleSensi Cardiac to enable its network to do accurate screening of cardiac conditions. With state of the art murmur detection built in to TeleSensi Cardiac this has allowed TeamCME members to perform auscultations on par to that of a cardiologist. In the US, 6 out of 10 murmur referrals result in an echocardiogram that diagnoses the murmur as non pathological or innocent. The adoption of TeleSensi Cardiac has allowed chiropractors to identify murmurs and allow their patients to return to duty without lengthy and expensive unnecessary referrals.

Apart from DOT physicals, sports physicals have also become a priority. Texas recently passed a law (HB-76) that mandates heart screenings for college and high school athletes, which allows certified medical examiners to offer these screenings with cardiac murmur detection. Reports with classifications and phonocardiograms embedded have been a game changer for schools, parents and providers in ensuring their students, patients and children are being looked after like never before.
